Weinstein fights MPAA over movie ratings

“I think we can all agree that we are living with an outdated ratings system that gives torture porn, horror and ultraviolent films the same rating as films with so-called inappropriate language,” Harvey Weinstein says.

This is a very interesting article about the Harvey Weinstein (owner of the Weinstein Company) who is challenging the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) over their movie ratings.

Video Projection Mapping

Check out these videos, they are blowing my mind! Remember, you are looking at documentation of installation and performances. The artists are projecting video onto objects such as sculptures, buildings and scale models of cars. There are no internal lights. In most cases this is done with 1 video projector. Probably done with a VJ program called Modul8.

Top Gun 2?

So, there is talk this week about a sequel to the 1986 movie 'Top Gun' which starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. That movie was fun, though totally absurd. But for an alternate explanation of what the movie is really about, I'll leave it to Quentin Tarantino to break it down for you... (This clip is taken from the 1994 indie movie called 'Sleep With Me.' The movie is otherwise forgettable.)
